For BCC Members Only

(The date for entries has now passed, downloads and links no longer active)
The 2012 BCC Exhibition will be held in the Harpur Suite, Bedford. The impressive and prestigious Harpur Suite is in the centre of Bedford, next door to the library.
Exhibitions take a lot of hard work and the annual BCC Exhibition has always been a valuable and worthy event. Sadly, largely due to venue circumstances outside of the club's control, the number of visitors from the general public has not been as high as we would have wished.
This year Alan Horn has taken over the show with a new approach to see what improvements can be achieved. Alan has put together a team of members and a lot of work has gone into re-engineering the exhibition. We are confident this year will be a great success. We expect to see many more visitors.
The Members' opening evening is on Thursday 19th April at 7.00pm. The exhibition will be open to the public on Friday 20th April and Saturday 21st April.
The exhibition is a chance for members of the club to display their best work. All members are encouraged to submit prints and PDIs for the exhibition.
From all of the submitted work two outside judges will select prints and PDIs for the exhibition. In addition the judges will ensure that every member has at least one print or image selected other than for classes 7 and 8, see below.
For the whole process to work you must submit entries to the required size and format by the required dates. The full details are in the small yellow Member's Handbook (download here) but a very brief outline is shown below.
There are four classes of prints and four classes of PDIs, two of which are restricted to novices. You select into which class each of your entries belongs making sure you fulfil all of the entry requirements. The classes are listed in the Handbook and on the entry form. There is a maximum number of entries that you can submit in each class. You need not submit to every class.
ENTRY FORM
Everyone must complete an electronic or hand-written entry form with your name and the titles of your PDIs and prints you are submitting. This is needed by 24th January 2012.
Electronic: We would very much prefer that you download the Excel spreadsheet. This electronic version will save our volunteer transcribers a lot of tedious typing. Use Excel to fill in the blanks and email the completed spreadsheet, as an attachment, to David Hogg.

Hand written: If you do not have Excel, or you have a problem using it, please download and print the PDF version of the entry form. If you are unable to download the PDF please ask Alan Horn for a printed copy. Write in your name and titles and pass this to Alan Horn

PDIs
The file name must be in the required format:
- Images should be in sRGB colour profile, and saved as a JPEG file at the highest quality setting.
- Images must be no larger than 1400 pixels wide by 1050 pixels high. It is not necessary to fill any unused canvas with black, but it is not a problem if images are already formatted this way.
- File names should be of the format: Mn_A B_x.jpg
where M = Image class (M = Monochrome, C = Colour, N = Novice, B = Bryant Cup)
n = Image number
A B = Authors first and last names (separated by a space)
x = Image title
eg. M1_David Hogg_My monochrome image.jpg
- No commas, underscores or other punctuation characters should be included in the image title or authors names, but hyphens are allowed. Underscores may only be used to separate the image number, the author's name and the image title.
The last date for PDIs to be accepted will be 24th January 2012
PDIs must be emailed to David Hogg, or passed on CD or memory stick to David Hogg
