Internal Competitions

The club organises a variety of competitions throughout its season.

Monthly

There are 5 competitions of this style of which 3 have an open subject and 2 a nominated subject.  Members may enter 3 prints and 3 projected images in each competition.  A cumulative points system operates with a cup being awarded for each class at the end of the season.

Set Subjects 2009/2010:    "Shape and Form in Nature",   "Sport"

 Philip Lepper Memorial Trophy

This is a prints competiton with a nominated subject. Members may enter 3 prints on the evening which are scored by the judge.  The member with the highest cumulative score wins the trophy.

 Set Subjects 2009/2010:    "Impressions"

Architects Association Trophy and NALGO Challenge cup

The competitions for both trophies are held on the same evening.  Both have nominated subjects and both are for projected images.  Members may enter 3 images for each competition.  The judge selects his best image to win the respective trophies.

Set Subjects 2009/2010:    Architects "Cool Architecture",   NALGO "Urban Life"

Digital AV Sequence

AV sequences must have a minimum of 10 images and a maximum time of 5 minutes.  They must be Windows PC executables.  The best sequences are used by the club for external competitions.

Points of View

This is a two part competition.  Usually a location is selected and members are given 6 subjects to photograph in or near that location on a particular day.  Members then submit their set of 6 digital images which form the basis of a competition evening.  The images are scored in rounds.  The member with the highest cumulative score wins the trophy.
